I know a lot about perseverance. Living with cystic fibrosis where every day seems like a struggle to get through because of my health, to grieving my father’s death when I was just 20 years old, I know a thing or 2 about struggle.

So, my number one tip on how to persevere when you want to give up? Give up.

That’s right. Give up. Surrender. 

The reason why we fight and feel as if we need to persevere is that we feel like the world is working against us, that only means we are trying to fight the world and the moment that’s in front of us instead of embracing it as if it were given to us. What we need to do when we get that feeling is surrender. We need to surrender to our Inner Being, to the Universe. Have faith that there’s a positive force pushing you in the direction you need to go. Have faith that all the struggles that are present in your life are trying to show you something and steer you in the right direction.

Have faith that if you get knocked down, you can recover.

True strength is surrendering to the situation at hand and learning from it. Don’t persevere, sit back and observe, listen, and take action on the inner voice you have that will show you the right direction.

Perseverance is about being still and preparing yourself to take a right next move.

Stop fighting, start loving. Start hoping, and having faith.

Give up.
