There is a certain exhilaration that comes about us when we are chasing our dreams. As people, we should all reach for the stars at all stages of our lives. For you don’t know what opportunity awaits you at any point in time. I’ve accepted the fact that even though dreams happen when they are meant to–we must never give up on working towards them.
It was about three years ago today that I sat down at my computer and started writing was what going to be the first draft for my first book. I had suddenly encountered an epiphany in which allowed me to do so. It was looked down upon by many people that I knew–solely for the fact that “I could never make it into a career.”
Many people asked what I was doing. “Writers don’t make any money.” They told me. But, I realized when I started typing that writing is what I loved with every fiber of my being. It set my soul on fire and it was so exhilarating the first time I realized this. There was no other job in this world that perfectly aligned with myself and my dreams. I was determined to never give up on this amazing talent I was blessed with; that is why I never did.
Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Words and ideas flooded my head as they streamed out my fingers, and onto the keyboard. I wrote my first book in less than a year at the age of fourteen. Even though I despised what others thought about me passionately loving writing, I kept to my senses. I knew this was what would allow me to share my creative thoughts and aspirations with the universe. I didn’t stop.
Flash forward to three years later: and I am still writing continuously. Thoughts and dreams frequently meander in my head giving me all the inspiration I need to write. I have obtained over a thousand followers on my own blog, and the same amount on my Instagram where I share my works as well. I have also just landed my first contract for a novella I have written at the ripe age of seventeen. Writing is still what I love ever so deeply with my heart, mind, and soul. It is what I want to do forever.
Although, If I would of listened to those in the beginning that doubted me–I wouldn’t be here today. It just proves that if you listen to what sets your soul on fire that’s all you need to carry on. You know better than anybody else in this world what you love unconditionally. The immense love you have for your dreams, will inquire that you will be the most successful version of yourself.
Follow your heart, and everything you wish to have will be given to you when the time is right.
